12 Christian Influencers You NEED to be Following…

Maddie Joy (me!) –

I am Maddie Joy, the founder of maddieejoy.com. My blog and reason for writing and speaking serves a lot of different purposes, but it all comes back to KNOWING JESUS AND MAKING HIM KNOWN. First and foremost, I want to encourage others to walk boldly and confidently in who God has called them to be, as I have first-hand experienced the reality that comparison is the thief of joy.

I am also passionate about the power of vulnerability and sharing the “real life stuff” behind the pretty, put-together smiles we slap on so often, when it just isn’t always the reality (yes, even as Christians)…but He is so faithful to meet us there and work through those hardships. I desire to expose fear for what it is: a liar and a thief of dreams, as it held me captive for many years and champion those who follow my personal experiences as they live out the unique call set before them! Let’s change the world, together ❤

I’ve struggled to find community. I’ve had a hard time fitting in and “finding my place.”

A lot of people don’t know this, but when I first started using social media as an outlet, I received so much hate for it to the point where I ended up shutting it down.

Recently though, I had a huge shift in perspective. I realized that I had allowed people’s opinions to rob me of my ability to reach people in a positive way. Yes, there are bad sides to social media, I’ll be the first to agree with that as I’ve experienced it first hand…but the way I see it is that people spend a whole lot of time with their phones in their faces regardless. SO, if I can use that for good, if I can be a positive light/voice in the midst of so much hate and negativity, why in the world wouldn’t I? It’s wild to me to think that over 13,000 people on an app care enough follow my journey through Instagram.

I’m blessed to say I’ve found community here. I’ve found group of people who care. I’ve found a group of people who root for me and cheer me on wholeheartedly and push me to pursue my crazy, wild dreams. Ive found a group of people who aren’t driven by comparison or who feel threatened/intimidated by the success of others, but who celebrate & encourage one another in the unique differences and abilities we each have to change the world for good. And most importantly, Ive found a group of people who help me keep Jesus as the center of all that I do. I’m sharing some of them here today!

Do not let negative people or people who don’t understand hinder you from pursuing your passions.

You will find your place & you’ll find your people and it will be worth it.

When you get there, don’t apologize for it, and don’t forget to include others. There’s plenty of room for all of us.
